Harnham Buddhist Monastery is a Theravada Buddhist monastery located approximately 16 miles northwest of Newcastle upon Tyne in England. It is just about 10 miles from Newcastle Airport.
It is a very tranquil monastery located on top of a hill. Driving up the hill to reach the monastery could be tricky – the path is quite narrow, so be careful. Its surrounding areas are very scenic and it makes for a good day trip from Newcastle (combined with the popular tourist spot, Belsay Hall or with other scenic villages in the North East) or as a stopover destination between Scotland and Newcastle.
